Wesley Snipes is Game to Shoot Another ‘Blade’ Film

The first two films in theBlade franchise are nothing short of awesome. Action packed, bloody and ultra-violent, these are the kind of movies that please the man who busts his tail from 9-to-5. What sounds better than putting in a long day of work to come home, hit the recliner and watch super-powered Wesley Snipes slice through a bunch of hideous bloodsuckers? Not much.
After Blade: Trinity failed to wow at the box office (the pic took in $52 million domestically, versus the $82 million and $70 million that Blade II and Bladeearned, respectively) it looked like Wesley Snipes was happy to be done with the series.
Fast forward 10 years and Snipes, released from prison last year, has a different opinion of the franchise. Or, perhaps he’s just eager to get back to working full time.
Speaking with MTV Snipes made it known that he’d "be open to” reprising his role as Blade, the bad ass, swift-kicking vampire hunter. "We have some stones left unturned, and there’s some latitude for us to build on. I’d love to get back in the suit again and do some things that I’ve learned to do now that I didn’t know how to do then. I think we’re better at making that kind of a film now."
Given the fact that the Blade franchise has, in general, been fiscally successful, a fourth Blade film suddenly looks like a stronger possibility than ever before. And why the hell not? These are fun movies!
We’ll see what transpires in the future!
